Every year around 3.6 million second hand cars are sold in Britain. Sales are rising, as more of us look for a cheap runaround. However, many consumers are not aware of their rights and what to look out for when buying a used car from a garage. Rachel investigates the cases of two X-Ray viewers who had serious problems when they bought second-hand vehicles. Scott Roberts bought his first car from a garage in Caerphilly but after driving just a few miles, one of the wheels fell off! His paperwork described the car as 'sold as seen', but the garage owner was later prosecuted by Trading Standards as it's illegal for garages to make such statements. And in Pontarddulais, Lisa and Andrew Williams discovered that even though the car they bought from a London garage had a clean MOT, it was riddled with rust and dangerous to drive. We'll also be speaking to an independent vehicle inspector about the checks a consumer can make before investing in a second hand vehicle. Rhodri has been catching up with our five Swansea-based job hunters to see how they're getting on in their quest to find the perfect career. When we first met 18-year-old Dwayne he was keen to pursue his dream of becoming a chef. He's had work experience in a five-star restaurant but since then things haven't gone according to plan. Ex-factory worker Tim is retraining as a forklift truck operator but he's finding the course tougher than he expected. And mum-of-three Gemma really wants to work in a bar or restaurant but needs to find a job which will fit around her partner's shifts. We'll see how she gets on when she hands out her CV to local pub owners. And Lucy's on the case, helping another viewer to sort out their consumer battles. This week, it's the turn of Trevor Williams from Caerleon who ordered sliding patio doors from a local glazing company back in January. He paid almost 2,000 pounds but eleven months on the work hasn't been completec and the doors are leaking.
