Booking a holiday a year in advance may get you a good deal, as well as giving you something to look forward to in the cold winter months, but it's proving to be a costly decision for Rachel and Leighton Porter from Pontypridd. Three months after booking their holiday to Spain with Thomas Cook, Rachel found that she was unexpectedly pregnant, with the baby due just days before their planned holiday dates. As they were giving Thomas Cook eight months notice, the couple didn't expect to lose their deposits. However, the UK's largest travel company has been less than flexible in allowing them to rearrange their trip. Hundreds of hotels are planning to bring legal action against travel review website Trip Advisor over claims that the site contains some false or unfair reviews. Trip Advisor insists its reviews are genuine and accurate - but with so many websites springing up for all kinds of businesses, Rachel Treadaway-Williams explores the pros and cons of review sites.
