Five years ago Chris Whatley was building a successful career and enjoying life in the city. But since he was struck down by a mystery illness which left him barely able to walk, he's now virtually housebound and living in his mother's terraced home in the Rhondda. Chris hoped a motorised wheelchair would give him a new lease of life. Rachel Treadaway-Williams investigates why months of confusion about the wheelchair he ordered means he's still stuck at home. Tim Rees has been unemployed for 12 years, whilst 26-year-old Gemma's been a full-time mum for the last five years. This week the two job hunters find out how to get started with the help of recruitment consultant Aimee Freeman and Sarah Bibby from Careers Wales. In another Story of Survival, Colin Williams from Merthyr Tydfil tells us how his home was struck by lightning in June 2009. Lightning causes around 24 million pounds worth of damage to homes in the UK each year, so Lucy meets Paul Cornall from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents to find out what can ben done to protect your property and what to do if you're caught outdoors in a storm. Autumn is the ideal time to find food for free, and as Rachel discovers you don't need to live in the depths of the countryside to pick your own lunch. With the help of forager Daniel Butler she explores woodlands near Newport and learns how to pick wild mushrooms safely.
