Presented by Jane Garvey. Psychologist Dr Penelope Leach evaluates the complex issues surrounding the types of child care that are available and used by parents today by looking back at how child care has evolved and reflecting on issues of child care in other countries. She joins Jane to discuss some of her key findings. Jane is joined by Lindsey Bareham, the author of A Celebration of Soup, who prepares some dishes, suggests some recipes and shares some helpful soup-making tips. An increasing number of women are afflicted by a late onset of acne. Dermatologist Dr Nick Lowe, alternative practitioner Sandra Gibbons and former adult acne sufferer Karen Thomas join Jane to discuss the causes and available treatments. It is estimated that as many as thirty thousand Germans offered some form of support and refuge to their Jewish fellow citizens during the Nazi period. A unique museum in Berlin honours these courageous people. The Silent Heroes Memorial Centre is dedicated to non-Jewish 'rescuers' who defied the Nazis and helped protect Jews from imminent deportation to the concentration camps. Andrew Littlejohn meets Barbara Schieb, one of the museum's curators, and Frau Timm who, along with her parents, hid two young men. Including drama: The Child in Time.
