With Jane Garvey. Can you beat the recession by entering competitions? Probably not, but some people, known as 'compers', give it a good try, entering up to 50 competitions a day. Jane hears from members of the Kompers Korner club in the West Midlands and Jenny Keefe, an analyst from the website moneysavingexpert.com. 50,000 babies are born prematurely every year in the UK, one of the highest rates in Europe - and the figure is still rising. So what causes premature births? Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh gave birth to a baby boy at just 21 weeks, who died after a few moments of life. She joins Jane to talk about her experiences, and Jane is also joined by two premature baby experts to talk about who is most at risk of giving birth prematurely and the latest research. The city of Durham is set to be enthralled in a festival of light and music as The Lumiere festival fills the city. Jane is joined by the directors Helen Marriage and Nicky Webb to talk about the festival and their previous projects, including the Sultan's Elephant, which brought London to a standstill in 2006, and La Machine, the spider that crawled across buildings in Liverpool in 2008. They discuss taking art to the people and the significance of audience participation in their work. A new report shows that parents who combine a warm and responsive approach to child rearing with clear and consistent boundaries, especially in the early years, are more likely to give them the skills they need for success and wellbeing in later life. So what is the impact on children whose parents are more laissez faire, hands-off or authoritarian in their approach? Jane speaks to the author of the report and the head of a leading parents' charity, and hears from parents of pre-school children.
