With Jenni Murray. Including: Thousands of people are said to have become dependent on medicines containing codeine. Concern about this widespread addiction has led the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority to announce new measures to counteract the addiction, including a warning that these painkillers can cause addiction if used continuously for more than three days. Why is the problem so widespread and what are the alternatives to these painkillers? Autumn is just around the corner and the shops are already beginning to fill their floors with this season's styles. Along with leather leggings, thigh-high boots and pagoda shoulders, we'll see demure tailoring and slinky evening gowns. But how can you inject some catwalk glamour into your wardrobe without breaking the bank? Harper's Bazaar editor Lucy Yeomans tells Jenni what we can expect to see, and how to wear the latest looks. In his latest book, Stephen Bayley, design guru, critic and founder of London's Design Museum, embarks on an unflinching exploration of the female body and its relationship to design. For him, woman is a masterpiece; the perfect fusion of form and function. Feminine curves, proportions, fissures and orifices, Stephen insists, have inspired designers from architects to car makers for centuries. So is this a useful re-evaluation of the female body or just objectification in a new guise? Jenni Murray is joined by Stephen Bayley and Vicky Richardson, the editor of the architecture and design magazine Blueprint, to discuss. Two women who were widowed during WWII recall their differing experiences to mark the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the conflict. Listener feedback on our debate about town versus country living and how to make the transition.
