For many of the 256 competitors in the men's and women's singles draw, this tournament will be the highlight of the year, with the chance to play on the hallowed lawns of the All England Club. There is also the added bonus of record prize money, with the singles champions earning 1 million pounds, and first-round losers getting a cheque for 11,250 pounds.
