A survey of businesses out today by the British Chambers of Commerce shows that in the second quarter of 2010, key areas such as manufacturing did better than expected. BP's share price rose 3.5% yesterday amid rumours of plans to sell a stake to a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund. Jobs for graduates are increasingly hard to come by, with an average of 69 candidates for every vacancy. Finally, the average household is suffering more during the recovery than it was in the recession. Those are the findings of a new BBC series which has looked at how changes in the economy have filtered down to ordinary people.
