Twenty Minutes

Final Exposure

Journalist Christine Finn explores the private world of late British landscape photographer Fay Godwin, who left London in 1995 and moved permanently to the family's former holiday home in a remote, secret location on the Sussex coast. Godwin found a new direction for her work and introduced colour for the first time. After her death in 2005, Godwin's family offered her considerable archive to the British Library. Finn, the first journalist to be allowed to visit, was shown round Godwin's home by her friend film-maker Maggie Taylor, gaining an insight into the power of the place that inspired Godwin.
