Twenty Minutes - Fiesta

A portait of the Fiesta del Pilar, a traditional celebration held annually in the Spanish city of Zaragoza in honour of the country's female patron saint. Held on October 12, the date is also marked across Spain as Dia de la Hispanidad, a national celebration of Columbus's discovery of the Americas. We hear the various elements of this year's celebrations, from the religious processions, to the bands, bullfights, fireworks, flamenco dancing and the traditional parades of gigantes y cabezudos, featuring carnival figures made of papier mache.
