The World at War - On Our Way

Laurence Olivier narrates the acclaimed documentary series about World War II. America entered conflict after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, but the conflict in Europe and the conflict in the Pacific were two separate wars. Many Americans would have been content to forget about Hitler and Europe. Despite opposition from congress President Roosevelt, however, was committed to fighting Hitler. Eventually Hitler declared war on America, thus relieving Roosevelt of a difficult decision.
