The World at War - Alone

Acclaimed documentary series telling the story of World War II, narrated by Laurence Olivier. With France fallen, the USA as yet uninvolved and the Russian pact with Hitler still in force, Britain is alone after Dunkirk and facing the Germans across the width of the English Channel. Although the RAF wins the Battle of Britain cities are blitzed, and on the continent her last allies are conquered. The outlook is grim.
