The Village

Thriller starring Joaquin Phoenix, in which the residents of an isolated 19th-century village in Pennsylvania live in fear of mysterious creatures that inhabit the surrounding woodland. Their safety is dependent on not venturing beyond the village boundary, but when a youth decides to seek medical supplies from another community, his adventurism triggers a spate of incidents that instil terror into his fellow villagers.
