The Verb - AL Kennedy, Christopher Ricks, Ana Silvera, Tim Key

Radio 3’s much-loved cabaret of the word returns to the Radio Theatre on Friday 9th July! Poet, broadcaster and Bard of Barnsley Ian McMillan, “the Shirley Bassey of performance poetry”, will be joined on stage by celebrated novelist AL Kennedy, who’ll be giving a special sneak preview of her latest novel, and by Christopher Ricks, the man who WH Auden called “the kind of critic every poet dreams of finding.” There’ll be poetry and comedy from Tim Key, best known for his appearances on Charlie Brooker’s Newswipe and BBC 4’s We Need Answers and music from sensational singer songwriter Ana Silvera, fresh from wowing audiences at the Hay festival.
