Parallel stories unfold from morning til night as the great and good become embroiled in the most unlikely situations. Repeat of Series 2, Epsiode 1. William Haig has a discussion with the ambassador of Kyrkistan but has msitakenly jemmed up on Uzbekistan -resulting in him agreeing to a royal visit. Al Pacino stalks Jon Humphrys. Sir David Attenborough is told that there are too many 'old animals' in his nature shows, and this is putting off younger viewers. The programme is written months in advance of transmission, and is therefore not topical or political - it's a sometimes surreal twist on the familiar 'impression show' without parody, pastiche or the usual caricaturising. The Secret World features some of the best vocal performers around including Lewis MacLeod, Jon Culshaw, Duncan Wisbey, Julian Dutton, Jess Robinson and Margaret Cabourn-Smith. The show is written by Bill Dare and Julian Dutton with Jason Hazeley & Joel Morris and Rufus Jones & Dan Skinner. The producer/creator is Bill Dare.
