The Cairngorms contain some of the most remote and scenic wild land in Scotland and are abundant with wildlife. The National Trust for Scotland aims to maintain a balance in this area between the conservation of habitats and public access and recreation. Hermione meets some volunteers on a working holiday on the estate and learns about path maintenance, dung counting and species identification.
