For Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Age of Miracles is a personal exploration of regret and resilience. Written during and after her recovery from a life-threatening pulmonary embolism, it's a reflection of the world around us seen through her eyes and heard through her ears. The outcome is a collection of songs that blends personal tales of discovery and experience with more distant and imagined stories of one's purpose and relationship to the universe. Alex Cornish decided he had to make a change in his life. He admits it's the same story for many musicians, unhappy at work, broke and drinking too much he decided to resign from his job and then from his bedroom at home he wrote, recorded and released an album. It sold 6,000 copies and led to a 30 day tour supporting Alison Moyet. He's just released his second album and will be playing some of it live in studio 30 years since she first appeared in the charts and 3 years since she last played live, Judie Tzuke is about to go on tour. She talks to The Music Cafe about her nerves, trying to remember the lyrics and the excitement of performing live with her daughter.
