The Games Today - Beijing 2008 - Day Six

Gabby Logan looks back at key events and stories with action, analysis, interviews and guests on a day when 17 gold medals were decided. As usual in Beijing, four titles were won in the pool. The best all round male gymnast in the world was crowned, and the spectacular canoe slalom venue was used for the last time. Fiona Pennie carried British hopes there, and we also now know how many of Britain's rowing crews will contest the finals at the weekend. Britain's women's archers were looking for medal success, as were Peter Cousins and Michelle Rogers on the Judo mat. The semi-final line ups in badminton and tennis competitions were also decided and there are less than 48 hours until from the first sailing medals are decided. Michael Johnson joins Gabby to look forward to the first athletics action in the Bird's Nest stadium. The highlights are expected to be the start of the Heptathlon, with Britain's Kelly Sotherton hoping to get a good start, and the beginning of the quest to find the fastest man in the world in the men's 100m.
