Documentary following a unique group of pilots who are keeping the last Spitfires and Hurricanes in the air, nearly 70 years after the RAF won the Battle of Britain. Cameras follow the The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, based at Coningsby, in Lincolnshire, for a whole flying season, including an historic Royal flypast. This special programme, marking the 50th anniversary of the unit, takes to the skies on the UK's last flying Lancaster bomber and meets the modern jet pilots learning to master vintage aircraft kept in the air as living memorial to the wartime aircrew who never returned.
