The Estuary - Episode 4

Peter France narrates an extraordinary story of life on the Wash as the tides and the seasons change, set against a backdrop of sounds recorded on location by Chris Watson. As the tide begins to recede, the hundreds of thousands of birds which had been roosting inland on the shingle banks and lagoons return to the mud flats, providing a noisy and wonderful spectacle.
