The Entertainer

Bringing his stage role to the screen, Laurence Olivier plays an egotistical vaudeville entertainer with delusions of being a 'star', yet who plays to an almost empty house and whose home life - his father is dying and his wife an alcoholic - reflects the failures of his career.
