Ten shy children who love to sing but are terrified of performing in public are put through their paces by choirmaster extraordinaire Gareth Malone. Having already worked his magic on a tone-deaf town, reluctant schoolboys and wayward teenagers, Gareth attempts to build the youngsters' fragile confidence and turn them into singing stars capable of performing in front of a massive crowd - 40,000 people at London's Proms in the Park. The tour bus is in London and, with only two weeks until the Big Performance at Proms in the Park, time is running out for the ten singing hopefuls as they tackle their most challenging style of music yet - classical. Gareth takes the group to The Royal Academy of Music where he studied, and announces that they will be learning the old folk song Danny Boy. With the group feeling uninspired, Gareth brings in child superstar Faryl Smith to help them recognise that young people can enjoy classical music too. Their diction is put to the test when they receive lessons from an etiquette teacher, and they take afternoon tea with Gareth. All ten proteges have tried out for the solo spot bar one, which means it's local boy Jordan's turn. It's a tough challenge for him as Gareth announces that the group's end performance will be at Reading football club in front of 15,000 fans! Arsenal fan and would-be rapper Jordan is more used to attending football matches than singing at them, so Gareth has a hard task convincing him and the rest of the group that they can do it.
