Ruth's received her hospital appointment with the plastic surgeon. She's nervous and has lots of questions. She'd like David to go with her for support, and it would give him an opportunity to ask questions too. He's lukewarm, but agrees. Later at the ploughing match Bert's done pretty well. Ruth congratulates him and wishes him well for the South Borsetshire cup. They discuss the outbreak of Blue Tongue disease and hope that the weather will soon bring it to an end. Kathy is feeling sick with nerves at the police station. Once it's established that she wishes to make a formal complaint of rape she's gently encouraged to tell her story from the beginning. Using all her strength she does her best. At the end DS Collins reads back her statement and says that if Taylor is charged they'll let her know. She's completely drained, and Kenton takes her home. She collapses in tears; it was horrible to have to go back through every little detail. Kenton tells her she did the right thing, and that it will all be OK.
