Nigel complains to Elizabeth about how Uncle Rupert's gone down in the Pargetter annals as some kind of weird hippie so he's going to build him a memorial. Ruth's perturbed when the milk records show that the milk yield is marginally higher when Eddie does the milking than Ruth. She's determined to discover what Eddie's doing. Adam and Jennifer busily get the barbecue ready for the strawberry pickers who've arrived at Home Farm. Brian arrives back from Dublin completely exhausted, explaining that he doesn't know how long Siobhan will last so he may have to leave again soon. Brian tells Jennifer that although it was difficult leaving Siobhan, it was more important that he and Jennifer talk. Later Brian visits Elizabeth who's upset to hear that Siobhan's cancer has spread. Elizabeth decides to visit Siobhan as soon as possible. Jennifer tells Adam that she still feels angry and jealous about Siobhan and Brian, even though Siobhan's dying, and feels like shouting about the effect her death will have on them. But when she sees Brian's painful expression, her anger evaporates. Adam doesn't know how Jennifer puts up with Brian but Jennifer explains that despite everything, she still loves him.
