The Archers - 17/02/2010

Usha's helping Alan put his tent up on the green. It's cold! Helen spots them on her way to Tony's birthday dinner. Alan cooks a meal for himself and Usha. Usha's not sure how he's going to cope, but Alan's enthusiastic about his project. Helen makes a shock announcement at dinner. She wants to have a baby, by sperm donation. Tony and Tom think she's mad. It'll ruin her life. Helen says she's given it serious thought, and expected more encouragement from her family. Helen leaves. Tony says Helen's crazy and will be left on the shelf. Pat insists that if Helen goes through with it, they'll support her. Tony wants to confront Helen but Pat says she'll talk to her. Jude takes Pip out for her birthday. She tells Jude how close she was to Phil. He says his granddad inspired him to be an artist, though (like a succession of activities) he's given that up for web design. Pip feels bad she's celebrating, but she needs to think about something else. Jude assures her this doesn't make her a bad person. Pip and Jude have a great night. Pip thanks Jude for being perfect.
