Teensville - Bat School for the Blind

Rob is a fifteen year-old from North Wales. He is a normal teenager except for one small difference - he can't see. Rob is about to go on a journey to Los Angeles where he will take a two-week intensive course in echolocation, a technique which, it's claimed, can allow blind people to see with sound. Joining him on this amazing trip is his mum. His teacher Brian is a laid-back Californian who preaches free-spirited discovery and sets himself on a mission to broaden Rob's horizons. While Rob enjoys his new-found freedom, his mother worries for his safety in a foreign city, miles from home. If they work, Brian's techniques could provide Rob with the tools he needs to lead an independent adult life. But his influence could at the same time expose a growing divide between a teenager and his mother.
