Take on the Takeaway - Simon Rimmer

Guest celebrity chefs are on a mission to convert kebab lovers and curry addicts to good home-cooked food. The chefs visit a fast food fan in their own home and try to convince them that they can cook that meal themselves. They also attempt to beat the takeaway on price, speed and - the big one - taste. Chef Simon Rimmer travels to March, in Cambridgeshire, to take on the onerous task of cooking a chicken doner kebab for takeaway fanatic Gavin Wright and his best mate Darrell Ladds, who only gets to eat takeaway when he leaves his wife's cooking at home and hangs out with Gavin. Gavin works long hours at a social club and only has one day off a week. He never cooks and is seriously considering removing the cooker from his kitchen. Gavin would rather kick back and order in from the local Chinese or kebab takeaway. Simon has his hands full as he tries to replicate the taste of a Turkish kebab in less time than it takes to order and deliver it.
