Storyville - Little Dieter Needs to Fly

Series of documentaries from around the world. Werner Herzog's film recreates the ordeal of Dieter Dengler, a German boy who lived through the Allied air raids and after the war became a fighter pilot in America. Shot down over Laos, he was imprisoned and, after a first escape, recaptured and tortured. He managed to escape again, marching through the jungle until he was taken to safety by an American plane.
