We look at the emotive and controversial research into potential cures for deafness. We highlight some of the latest developments and ask the crucial questions, is this really what the deaf community wants and could deafness eventually be eradicated? We follow profoundly Deaf viewer Tomato Lichy as he puts these questions to a leading scientist in the field. We also attend a special awards ceremony at Wolverhampton University, where the Chairman of the British Deaf Association and former See Hear editor Terry Riley, receives his honorary degree for his services to the Deaf community.
