To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 2, BBC2 Scotland reveals the country's road to war. When Hitler came to power in 1933, Scotland, along with the rest of the United Kingdom, became involved in a race to prepare for war. Every corner of the country was called on to play its part. Scots who were there tell how rearmament factories were built against the clock, fields were transformed into airbases, an army of volunteers were trained to beat the German bombers, and thousands of children were evacuated to unknown destinations on the adventure of a lifetime.
