Friday the 13th is nearing- the day the nation officially becomes a little more superstitious than usual! Do you avoid walking under ladders and run from black cats? Kim will be chatting to superstition expert Professor Bruce Hood who’ll be making sense of these fears. With the recession still biting more and more of us are turning to stitching and sewing those old socks. Its craft month in Belfast and knitting aficionado Sharon Clarke will be joining us in the studio to teach Kim a few tricks of the trade. A swarm of celebs have ditched the bottle in favour of growing old gracefully. Is it time to finally leave our roots alone? Former Cosmo editor Linda Kelsey did just that and will be telling Kim how she coped when separated from her hair dye. Celebrity Hairdresser Nicky Clarke will also be giving his expert opinion on going grey. Dublin based songstress Rose O’Reilly will be performing live ahead of her Belfast gig and bringing her unique sound of folk to the studio. Mint and lamb, apple and pork, beef and horseradish are all perfect partners but have you ever wondered why some foods go so well together? Kim will be talking to author of the ‘Food Thesaurus,’ Nicky Segnit to find out where those winning combinations come from. Paula McIntyre will be showing us how to cook an old favourite - chicken and broccoli bake and there won’t be a tin of soup in sight. That’s the Saturday Magazine programme with Kim Lenaghan just after the 10 o’clock news.
