Russell Davies - 28/02/2010

Logo for Russell Davies - 28/02/2010

Every Sunday Russell Davies presents the history of popular song, spotlighting its greatest exponents. Much of this week's show is given over to a celebration of an unsung hero from The American Songbook: A little known name who wrote such classics as You Make Me Feel So Young, The Five O Clock Whistle and Autumn Nocturne, he is Josef Myrow. Through one of Myrow's less celebrated works You Can Count On Me, Russell also manages to wave a flag for World Maths Day (March 3rd). We finish with a salute, on achieving his eighty years, to guitarist, bandleader and preserver of good ol' songs - Marty Grosz.
