A bunch of new CDs from the Arbors company get the programme off to a good start this week with brand-new versions of classic songs and a rarity by a formidable team of writers (Ira Gerswhin, Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg). We then settle in to celebrating the big centenary of this week - that of pianist Lou Busch whose alter ego was honky-tonk pianist Joe "Fingers" Carr. One track has Russell wondering about the use of "Napoleon" in song and we close with a nod to Roc Hillman, writer of My Devotion whose centenary falls on this day.
