Russell Davies celebrates the art, craft and inspiration of the popular song and this week's show is a Valentine's Day special. The programme is fragrant with love, except for two songs which buck the trend: Sam, The Old Accordion Man, a remarkable 1927 recording by Ruth Etting, played to mark composer Walter Donaldson's birth-date; and That's What I Hate About Love, a Harold Arlen-Ted Koehler rarity sung by Rebecca Kilgore.
