Russell opens with a track from a Dean Martin album released on this day in 1960 and this leads to a sequence devoted to the album's arranger, Nelson Riddle, who left us just 25 years ago this week. We hear him as a sideman with Tommy Dorsey; backing Rosemary Clooney, with whom he had a famous affair; with Nat King Cole, who recorded over 250 sides with Riddle's backing; and with Ella Fitzgerald and Linda Ronstadt, in contrasting moods. Russell then explores songs with the words "riddle" in the title, coming up with three curiosities before turning to an 80 year old classic by Fletcher Henderson; a 70 year old one by Beatrice Kay and, lyrically connected to this, two different songs that share the same name - Make Love To Me.
