Roots Remembered

A programme to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1977 mini-series Roots, a dramatic depiction of slavery which attracted the highest global audience of the time, with 130 million viewers. Actors John Amos, Ben Vereen and Leslie Uggams etched the characters of Kunta Kinte, Kizzy and Chicken George forever in television history. Includes contributions from Uggams, LeVar Burton, Lou Gossett Jr and Ed Asner.
