Gabriel Brodie swaggers into Shieldinch like a cowboy poised at the entrance to a Wild West town, weighing up its possibilities. But instead of a horse, he's got a rusty white van! His first port of call is the McKee's old house where he breaks in and leaves a mysterious note for the new owner. Gabriel then makes quick links within the community, charming Gina, flirting with Amber and befriending Stella. Meanwhile, Fraser is busy boasting about his newly acquired premises for Heavenly Herbals - Versus. But Gabriel's got his eye on the place too. Gabriel and Fraser get off to a bad start, with Gabriel disliking Fraser's arrogant tone and terrible attitude to everyone. Wanting the shop for himself, and now with the added joy of usurping Fraser, Gabriel has only got a few hours to raise the rent for Versus to ensure he gets the lease. Stella is roped into tending shop, while Gabriel hawks his wares from door to door. A pool game turns into an opportunity to hustle Deek and Charlie out of some much-needed notes, and a chance to chat up a pretty girl. Gabriel even manages to steal a kiss with Amber along the way. Fraser's frustration with Gabriel escalates to the point of calling the police on Gabriel for being a squatter. But when the police arrive they are more concerned about the boxes of 'bargain' goods in Versus which belong to Fraser. It's then Fraser who ends up in trouble with the police and Gabriel triumphantly secures the lease. Gabriel is delighted to see his brother Michael, the new inhabitant of the McKee's house and Shieldinch's new GP. As Michael's arrival causes a buzz amongst the regulars, he warns Gabriel not to ruin things for him in the community before he's even properly arrived. Later that night, Fraser can't help making a dig at Gabriel but is shocked when Gabriel grabs him threateningly and cuts him down to shreds, warning him that he's staying around to mess with Fraser's head. Gordon has decided it's time for a change - he's decided to sell up and move on. Gordon tries to tempt Hayley away to Tenerife with him but she won't be bought and wants to stay with Jack.
