Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert

The first in a series of cello lunchtime recitals from LSO St Luke's in London, Raphael Wallfisch (cello) and John York (piano) perform Zemlinsky and Brahms. The Zemlinsky Sonata was recently rediscovered by Raphael Wallfisch, as a photocopy of the manuscript lay undeciphered in a collection of papers owned by his father. Zemlinsky was fortunate to be mentored in his composition career by Brahms. whose great cello sonata we also hear. ZEMLINSKY Sonata in A minor BRAHMS Sonata in F major (No. 2).
