Radio 2's Comedy Showcase - The Sharp End

Another chance to hear Alistair McGowan star as Anthony Sharp, the consumer affairs host from hell. He's egocentric, vain, manipulative, misogynistic, crass, paranoid and a generally unpleasant man. Consequently, he's had quite a promising media career! But he still doesn't have the success he feels he deserves. He's the much-loved presenter of the only - well almost the only - consumer programme on the radio. But his nemesis has arrived [played by Green Wing's Michelle Gomez]. The show's becoming a double-header and his new co-star is younger, more attractive and already more successful than him. And she's actually human as well. The Sharp End was written by the comedians Ian Stone and Tom Craine, who also star as the producer and cub reporter unfortunate enough to work with Anthony. It was first broadcast in June 2010, as part of Radio 2's continuing Comedy Showcase series.
