As part of Radio 3's Chopin Experience, Michael Berkeley draws on the programme's archives for a selection of Chopin pieces chosen by previous guests. They include psychiatrist Anthony Storr and jazz bassist Charlie Haden on the Etudes; the late writer and scholar Edward Said on the Impromptu, Op 36; and journalist Anne Karpf on a Nocturne played by her mother Natalia. Plus politician William Hague, writer Andre Brink and poet Anne Stevenson on a selection of Preludes, as well as actor Patrick Malahide on the G minor Ballade.
