Primary History - Magic Grandad: Mrs Beeton

Magic Grandad uses his amazing time-travelling powers to take two of his inquisitive grandchildren on the most extraordinary adventures. Each drama starts in the present day, and a conversation or an event inspires a journey back in time to meet a famous person from history. Magic Grandad appears in the kitchen while the children are cooking a special dinner for their mother. He is shocked at the mess they have made. He tells the children about Mrs Beeton, a cook and author, who knows all about housekeeping. They travel back in time to 1861. Isabella Beeton has recently published Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management. Later we find Mrs Beeton preparing a dinner party, Grandad and the children prepare food, set the table and collect garden vegetables.
