Magic Grandad uses his amazing time-travelling powers to take two of his inquisitive grandchildren on the most extraordinary adventures. Each drama starts in the present day, and a conversation or an event inspires a journey back in time to meet a famous person from history. Magic Grandad appears while the children are getting ready to fly to Spain for a holiday. Millie wants to become a pilot. Grandad tells the children about Amy Johnson, the incredible woman who flew solo to Australia from Britain in the 1930s. He takes them back to 5 May 1930 just as Amy is ready to make her record-breaking flight.
