In a concert from St David's Hall, Cardiff, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales conducted by David Atherton performs Walton's classic Cello Concerto, with Alban Gerhardt as soloist. Walton composed this passionate work in Italy and it bears a clear Mediterranean influence.
