LIVE - from Glasgow City Halls. Presented by Jamie MacDougall. The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra welcome back guest conductor Vassily Sinaisky for a programme of dazzling music from the first half of the 20th-Century. First, Holst's cheerful ballet music The Perfect Fool, followed by Britten's Piano Concerto, a youthful and highly virtuosic piece which the composer wrote to premiere at the Proms, brought to life here by Steven Osborne. And after the interval, another piece also premiered at the Royal Albert Hall: Vaughan Williams' mystical and lyrical Symphony No. 5.
