From the Barbican Hall, London, Catherine Bott presents the conclusion of Stephane Deneve and the BBC Symphony Orchestra's concert of French music spanning the 20th Century. With Guillaume Connesson's Supernova, written in 1997 to accompany a classic silent film by FW Murnau - a work which has since established itself as a concert piece in its own right. That is followed by the second suite from Ravel's ballet score Daphnis et Chloe, which evokes the decadence of early 1900s Paris.
