Presented by Ian Skelly Bach's setting of the Passion of Christ as told in the Gospel of St. John was written for Good Friday 1724 and is filled with some of Bach's most vivid and dramatic music which tells the Easter story in an almost operatic way. In this performance legendary Dutch conductor and organist Ton Koopman, leads a performance given by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and starry soloists including Andreas Scholl and Mark Padmore as the Evangelist.
