Pavee Lackeen: The Traveller Girl

Semi-improvised drama about a spirited young girl whose family is part of Ireland's traveller community. Young Winnie's austere roadside-caravan life with her mother and community is under threat from supposedly well-meaning outside forces. The film's principle cast members are from the same family and give the impression of acting out versions of their own lives.
