Lowri Blake explores the history of well-known pieces of music. On Hearing The First Cuckoo in Spring by Frederick Delius is considered a perfect evocation of a spring morning in England. However, Delius composed it in France, was the son of German parents although born in Bradford, and adapted a Norwegian folk tune to provide the sublime melody that runs through the piece.
