Mama Abut and her baby, found starving in a palm oil plantation, get a second chance at life when a handful of rescued orangutans are flown deep into the wild heart of Borneo and to freedom. At the centre, the challenging and emotional task of caring for over 600 of our closest relatives continues, with irresistible babies in the nursery needing 24-hour care, playful orphans in the Forest School learning the skills they need in the wild, and older primates gaining independence and becoming ready for release. The team do everything they can to save the species from extinction.
