Vivaldi's Orlando Furioso Presented by Donald Macleod. On his triumphant return to Venice in 1727 as a composer and impresario, Vivaldi presented his 'heroico-magical drama', which tells the story of Orlando on the island of the sorceress Alcina, as a model for what opera should be.
